Tonya Rockaway: Owner, Manager, and Groomer.
I have 39 years of grooming experience. I started grooming when I was 10 years old by AKC show dogs and continue to groom show dogs to this day. I also worked for Petco, Petsmart, Tonya's Grooming, Canine Country Club in Blue Springs, and Treats Unleashed in Leawood . We raise and breed French Bulldogs. I decided to start a new adventure as the new owner of Golden Paws Grooming and Luxury Doggie Hotel! I plan to keep the same hours of operation, and we will be re-opening the hotel again. I can’t wait to meet you all and our furry friends!
Jill Janesko: Groomer.
I have been professionally grooming dogs and cats for 37 years and have owned my own shop for 18 years. I started as a veterinary assistant which has helped increase my awareness and knowledge of medical issues in animals. Therefore, I am more aware and can let you know of any issues with your animals that need to be seen by a veterinarian. I later became a groomer and have worked closely with veterinarians throughout the years. I take pride in making sure each groom is of top quality. I have also trained several other groomers throughout the years. Also, we raise and breed Parti Yorkies at our home. Due to some much needed surgeries in my hands and back. I have sold the business to Tonya. If I do ever come back to grooming, it will be here. Thank you so much for your support through the years. I am confidant I am leaving you in great hands!
Sarah Cochran: Groomer
I have been professionally grooming dogs for over 24 years. I am experienced in every breed and can clip any dog any style that you desire. My mother is also a professional groomer, and I went to work with her while I was growing up. When I was 4 years old, she would let me bathe and pre-shave dogs. Then she started teaching me finishing work as I grew up. When I was 15, she taught me all the fine tuning of dog grooming, and I became a professional groomer.
I attended the University of Missouri and received a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Then, I moved to South Dakota and received a master’s degree in Animal Science. My research was focused on reproductive physiology. Now I get to stay at home with our 5 children and homeschool them on our farm. We also raise and breed English Cream Golden Retrievers. I still come to Lee's Summit the first Saturday of every month and groom here at Golden Paws.
Jordan Rockaway : Groomer/Bather
I have been professionally grooming dogs for over 2 years. I have been trained under my mother who is the owner and fellow groomer in the shop, and I have been bathing dogs ever since I was young. Starting out with show dogs, I have over 12 years of dog bathing experience and I have been working to hone my skills whenever I get the chance. I have a french bulldog named Ling and a black cat named Wolfe. I look forward to meeting everyone and their lovely fur babies!!!
